Lawns
During hot weather a few things to remember about your lawn:
- Do not fertilize. It will stress the lawn and it may burn.
- Avoid herbicides (weed killers).
- Maintain a height of 3 inches or more. This will keep your grass roots cooler and prevent less stress.
- Grubs attack grass roots. They are white, C shaped with dark brown heads. If your lawn is yellowing, wilting or thinning you may have grubs feeding underneath. You can cut a one foot square and roll back. If you detect more than eight grubs you should consider a control measure.
